UK d3 exporting to Africa

Hi,

I'm new on here, but I am just after some advice which I seem unable to obtain from Land rover. I am looking to export my d3 to Mozambique from the UK, having spoken to a garage in South Africa they have suggested that if I wish to bring a EU4 car that I may have to do a conversion on the injectors/fuel system as the fuel quality in Africa is not as good.
Does anyone know if this is truely the case? if so what would be the cost of such a job?

many thanks

the injectors/fuel system are the same (or nearasdamnit) as the D3. The EUiv spec, just means that there is a sensor on the EGR valve,(so you can't blank them without showing the EML on).
Cat is the same, but some may have a DPF. The DPF may cause you problems if it gets coked up.

Can't think of much else different that plenty of fuel filters can't cure.....

Hi,A friend of mine bought a D3 in the UK and brought it to South Africa. No issues with the feul,BUT LR was not prepared to transfer the remainder of his warranty Big Cry I suspect it has something to do with UK spec cooling and aircon not being of the same spec as Africa/Middel East vehicles Exclamation

Bodsy where is this sensor? I know of 2xMY08 build D3 in SAfrica, who blanked the EGR'S, any thoughts on how this is possible without EML?Frans whats the different cooling spec you referring to or is that as question for TLO?

I am speculating as LR would not transfer Barry's warranty when he brought the car to RSA.Can't think of something else that should worry them somuch that they refused to honour the outstanding warranty'My RR classic and D1's sold here had uprated cooling- and aircon systems.Even the older Series vehicles.Maybe LR have standarised on the worldwide spec, but I doubt it.We have no FBH's,as you know!!Regards Very Happy Very Happy

maybe looking at the part number of radiator and other parts we could see that the design is different.

Transfer of warranty ???

If I drive, or ship, my UK registered D3 anywhere in the world surely the warrant is valid ?

This car was exported to South Africa.I know for sure if you visit Mosambique with a Ford or VW,no warranty. You have to get the vehicle to RSA border at own cost, then you can call on your warranty. The same will likely apply to other makes.I have experiance of these two makes. Not very nice to find out when you break down!
