Tyres for a D3
I need to replace the two fronts as they are down to 2mm and I don't like waiting for the legal limit.
Rears are Pirelli Scorpion Zero and virtually new so was going for the same on front. The order was accepted and booked for a fit on the drive today. No show by 3pm so rang up, fitters van broken down
I re booked for later in the week which has been confirmed by e-mail, soon followed by another to tell me they can't get my tyres and offering me P Zero instead.
The OCD in me says I would rather the same tyre as on the back but are they that significantly different.
The user reviews don't rate the P Zero so highly.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

To avoid being in this situation, it's better to swap front and rear regularly...
All 4 tyres should be replaced at the same time, not only because the different diameters but for different grip due to the age.

Hopefully this may also be useful as one of my neighbours got some from Asda’s

I recently bought the car knowing it needed 2 new fronts, another reason to change them is the rears are almost new so doing the fronts brings them back to approximately the same wear and age.
How does the D3 tend to wear the tyres as a 4 wheel drive mostly on tarmac.
I did originally set on some from Asda but the price went up, the supplier I ordered from were some £40 cheaper and I suspect that is why they can't get them, probably at a price they are willing to pay.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Hi,
are the PSZ not all terrain rated and the PPZ are performance Biased tyres ?
so their designed for different situations, I would Reject the PPZ and either wait for what originally ordered or go somewhere else.
if your not happy with the deal you never will be, money back.
Personal preference would be All Season on my D3 then All Terrain, then performance biased tyres
(and a spare set of rims with true Winters on )

It is interesting to see that the reviews on their site for the Scorpion Zero are better and from 4WD users with more than a few D3, the P Zero are from sport car types and less positive.
I am inclined to give the P Zeros a missA visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

what size are u after plse as may be able to find them cheaper from other tyre places I’ve used in the past
Know ur not doing the same but found out a hard lesson ages ago where I bought some tyres online to then find that many tyre centres wouldn’t fit them , they only fitted tyres they supplied , ooops

255/55 19 111 is the size but as you say just buying tyres can be a problem. I have an old customer of mine who has tyre fitting kit in his garage who I could call at a pinch but that I would rather not do.
I am not desperate, the tyres are legal but I will be picking up a caravan in February and I am always conscious of stopping a heavy car with a van on the backA visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
