Fitted Scorpion Ice and Snow prior to my recent couple of weeks in Southern Germany. It didn't snow but it was around zero most of the time. Apparently winter tyres are more effective than all year tyres once the temp drops below 7 degrees C. Ride and noise no different from standard Pirelli Zeros.

Also be aware that in some countries lack of winter tyres can be held as a contributory factor when apportioning blame for any accident.

I think I'll programme the key and live with it!!! Razz

Never had to read a cars manual so much before!!!

Slipping back onto the tyres, particularly wth regard to retired's comment re: blame, is there a good website that clearly lays down what the obligations ect are for the driver....and by that I mean clearer and more definitive than the AA's site for instance? I would rather know exactly what is expected than really on the fact you are unlikely to be stopped. I know all the hire cars run on designated winter tyres as do the locals so.......

in France I will be unable to escape form the gendarmes with any excuses once they find out SWMBO is French and hence should know better............although on this subject she doesn't seem to have a view or opinion Embarassed
Right time for a bacon sandwich Very Happy
end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
