Tyre wear on rear tyres

Has any other owner had problems with tyre wear on the rear tyres. In January this year we noticed that the rear tyres were wearing in a very unusual pattern on the inside edge the rubber was feathering away at the edge of the tread.I took the Disco to the local dealer who did not do anything just said they would report it to LR technical support and would get back to me.But in the meantime I should rotate the tyres to the front to even out the wear,Thought this wasa bit stupid did not want to ruin another two tyres by puttting them on the rear.
I sent an email to LR customer service in Sydney to advise them of the severity of the problem and that if someone did not make a decision soon I would have to take it to an independent wheel alignment specialist and send them the bill.
On April 10 after no response from LR,I had the vehicle wheel alignment done as per independent specialist, sent the report to LR with the costs plus, charges for two new tyres and my time to take the vehicle in to get it done.
Today LR phoned to say they have refused my claim as I should have taken the advice and rotated the tyres(as of today front tyres are still good) thanks to me ignoring them.
I am aware that there are a few owners in South Australia who also are experiencing unusual tyre wear between 10,000kms and 20,000kms

Tyre Wear

I've seen this on a car at my Service Centre. Don't know what caused it, and it was relegated to the spare.

I had one tyre like this, noticed when I changed my alloys. Its taken ages, but my car is in the dealers net monday, and alignement and castor/camber is being checked.

I would have thought a rear wheel alignment check was the obvious thing for the dealer to check! Rotating the tyres will not fix the problem. Was it Black Forest or Prestige? Maybe a word to the Dealer Principal would help - he owns both dealerships.

Incidentally, Black Forest Service so far has been excellent with my car.

Rear Wheel Alignment

Prestige are the dealers this is the sixth vehicle I have bought from them they always went that extra bit to ensure the customer was happy.Hence the reason for continuing to buy from them,I think maybe they think I am that much of a Land Rover fanatic that this time around they did not need to go the extra mile.
We have always had a good relationship with sales/parts staff but this time around the service dept miss the little things that make the difference. They had to order parts from the Uk to fix one problem, they did not bother to phone to say parts are here can we book the car in.It was left up to me to phone and ask how much longer before they fix the fault I was then told yes the parts are here. Our biggest problem in Adelaide is that the only two dealerships are run by the same company therefore there is no competition for sales or parts. Most of the other owners I know are now having servicing done at Independent LR specialists around the suburbs Prestige and Blackforest are so expensive.

There's quite a bit of discussion on wheel aligment. Do a search for "camber", and take a look here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3320 for some specific settings information.

It is a not uncommon problem.
