How close to the edge of the tyre can you repair a puncture, is 15mm too close to the edge. Got a screw in the tyre and when I pulled it out the air also came out Sad

In the bad old days when dinosaurs were in short pants and Series IIa LandRovers were new Whistle I had some green snot-like substance in the tyres of my ex-military LWB hardtop. The advice was to go round once a week/month and remove nails and screws - the tyre wouldn't go down. And it didn't.

I believe you can still buy said or similar substance... insert then re-remove screw??? Confused

Countrywide, I dont know if there is a Vulcanizing place near you but they can repair punctures near the edge of the tyre/sidewall. There is one just down the road from me in Haslingdon, Rossendale Vulcanizing, if you want I'll find their number. Before the throng descend upon me Spock does not work there, he jacked a couple of weeks back!

I will pop past the tyre shop tomorrow to see if they can fix it, if not I may call upon your Vulcan friend to meld it.

It's only done 2K miles, so it will be a pain if it is written off.

Places that do truck tyres would be able to repair. Reatail places willl sometimes try to sell you a new tyre. Shocked

Tyre shop won't fix it. So I will have to find a vulcaniser or maybe a klingon to fix it.

Any suggestions of where to find one. Normally wouldn't bother, but it is a brand new tyre.

Sometimes this upsets the balance,
if it settles in one spot.
but maybe worth a try
