Tyre Recommendation Please!Definitely Not Scorpion Verde All
I need a suggestions on Tyres to buy for my D3 please but as stated in the topic, Scorpion Verde All Season would not be welcomed as my current Tyres are of this brand.
Bought all four brand new from ASDA Tyres and one peeled like an onion on M25 on the fast lane. Contacted them for the warranty with pictures all sorts/ documents filled as requested and was told they could't detect any manufacture issue. I bought a Bridgestone as replacement.
Another one recently took a nail puncture and was told by the Tyre shop that its no good for a fix/patch as its twisted internally. I was advised to buy another one.
So I want to replace all four and make that Bridgestone the Extra. I want to get rid of all the scorpions.
Wheel size, intended use - road/off road etc, etc all useful infoPaul.
06 Java Black HSE - gone
12 Baltic Blue HSE - gone

Thanks for letting us know what happened with your scorpion verde all season. That is the second serious issue with them on relatively young tyres reported on here in the last 2 days. Bit of a concern since I’ve recently fitted them. Didn’t spot anything in the tyre reviews before I bought.
The other recent issue, by the way was serious cracking/splitting all around the circumference of the tyre in the tread.
Good luck finding your alternative and thanks for the heads up.
CheersGary

I have been looking at the VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 5 SUV as an all season replacement for my current Michelin summer tyres.
Don't know if anyone has any experience of them?08 D3 TDV6 SE

I've got Goodyear Duratracs on mine. I haven't had the car off-road since I got them but I do like the look they give to the car. I'm not aware of any additional road noise from them either.

By way of balance I ran the All Seasons for 35k miles no problems.
Be interested to see what the outcome is with the manufacturer.

I've been running them for over a year now.
While maybe not as good as a summer tyre when it's hot & dry they are better when damp, and when cold. icy, snow much, much better - they will even cope with damp grass quite well, and normally that's a bit like wet teflon....
And they don't wear too quickly - less than half way to my personal "must replace" point after a year of assorted trashing around roundabouts etc....Rob Smith

Not on a Discovery but my wife's RRS TDV8 we have now had 4 of these tyres fail, not off roaded, never run flat, and all less than 1 year old.
Starts with a vibration and once checked you can feel small wires sticking out of the side wall and at some points the tyre is separating....

sorry forgot to say, they all failed on the inside tyre wall, nothing visible from the outside of the tyre.
