Tyre inflators (12v)?
Needed to check and top up the tyres today, three local garages had the air lines not working and fourth one worked but not properly
Decided to splash out and buy myself a portable inflator thingy, preferably with an auto cut off feature (would not want my blow up doll bursting... ).
Anyone out there who can recommend a good one?
I agree with Slimer, VIAIR, not cheap but v good

The single cylinder T-Max ones are very good.
See http://www.mailorder4x4.com/acatalog/TMax_...Jacks.html
Usually under 50 ukp. (Other people also sell them, try a Google.)
I use them for the air brakes on our miniature railway.

Agree T-max is a good bit of kit - it depend on how much you need to use it. single pump has always been ok but I've seen the double in action and it is fast, more usefull if you are deflating and then re-inflating tyres for off roading.
It's worth shopping around a bit as the prices vary a lot -

Save up for a Viair. Or ask for one for Xmas.
Anything less is a waste of money. Or get a double barrel footpump if cash is really tight.

Interesting.....this discussion popped up on the Spanish forum a couple of days ago too....(along with the seasonal FBH and Battery posts )...
I have a TEMKO double piston compressor...I bought it a few months ago reduced from 230 euros to 150 euros.
I've blown up a couple of cheap ones and decided to invest in a decent one.
The chaps here have given you some good pointers of suitable compressors:
VIAIR
T-MAX
TEMKO
I couldn't justify the expense of a Viair and I've used my Temko a lot with no problems....a great bit of kit.
Make sure that you get one with battery clips - if it has a connection to plug into the lighter socket than it means it is going to be crap.
I would say that you need to spend at least 80 quid as a minimum.....150 to be sure of decent quality.2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
