tyre advise required

Hi All,

Now i have my disco 3 and a set of 17" black wheels i now need tyres.

What size of tyres should i get? 265/70/17 ?

My Off Road wheels:

What are you all using at present? do i got Mud Tyres or All Terrain tyres?

what brand do i go for? GG, Cooper, Wrangler, Toyo etc.

my budget is about 100 per tyre. can push it up a little. ideally i would like 5 tyres so i can carry a spare.

Look forward to receiving your help and advice.

Not sure 100% if they come in 17" but the gg m/t looked good.
I use GG at3 Thumbs Up

I hope you've NOT got the v8 brake upgrade yet as those wheels won't go over the discs, and if you've not,
Then why not? Thumbs Up

Hi All,

advice needed. I have the chance to get 5 Bf Goodrich Mud Terrain 265/70/R17 at a really cheap price. I don't know if they will fit onto a discovery 3 hse? i have purchased 5 17" alloys from a discovery 3 base model. would these tyres fit these alloys and would there be any clearance issues from a steering or suspension point of view?

i look forward to your advice.

Hi All,

well i now have got my self a set of BF Goodrich 2657017 tyres.Picked the 4 up for 160.00. getting them fitted to the alloys on Saturday. Just one big worry the tyres look massive. bigger than i thought. hope they fit on my disco. I know there are some guys inhere that have fitted them but i am worried about scuffing when they are fitted. Will let you guys know over the weekend how i get on.

Tyres purchased. between 7 and 10 mm Thumbs Up

I used to have 265/70r17 Maxxis Bighorns on my disco 3, though had it lifted with Johnson rods and 50mm wheel spacers, never had a problem with rubbing.

I really couldn't say, as you can see from the following picture they are a fair size bigger than standard sizes so I fitted the rods and spacers at the same time as the wheels.

What tyre pressures do you guys use? I read somewhere that this shouldn't change from stock with larger tyres. However with mine at 32psi and 36psi it doesn't look like enough air...

I have BF Goodrich 265 70 r17 AT on my car.

Hello,

I have just changed my wheels from 19" to 17" wheels. went to 265 / 70 / 17 without any issue.
