Mike40 Shrinky
Ordered my TV tuner yesterday and it arrived today from CPC, with all the bits like aerial, remote, leads etc.Considering it lists as £38 with CPC normally, using Mikes code it inexplicably comes in at £25 + postage. 8)
Also popped in and saw Martin (Shrinky) this morning and picked up some heat shrink from him. Good to put a face to the name and meet a fellow D3'er. I owe you a pint at the area meet mate in exchange for the heat shrink and coffee

Now i've got all the kit and am getting around to the fitting stages, the local vehicle electricians looks even more inviting, especially with the size of the sat nav connectors!
And if I provide all the bits they do me a nice labour only rate. 8)

Also did you crimp the sat nav connector center pin or solder it? Looks so tiny I can barely see it let alone work on it

I never bother with the center pin as once you crimp the end piece it cant come out ..also the small pin is designed for the RG174 coax .Not had any issues with my 3 G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Doh! Why didn't I think of that! I was sooo careful cutting the wire to within a thou before soldering it. Also, as I couldn't find my crimper (I wish I could remember who borrowed it last...) I bought the clamp type plugs; these work just fine too.Dr. Ian Malcolm:

when pushing the sat nav connectors into the back of the sat nav is there any feedback to confirm its in ok? Like a nice little clunk or click or anything?
Was having a go this afternoon but connectors seem almost too tight, i tried a connector in each hole but wasn't sure how far/hard to push?
