"Turning light" or not?

Hi,

I just purchased a used 2007 D3, TDV6 HSE. I am pretty happy with it, but have just had it in for a last service before end-of-warranty, and want to make sure all is kosher;

I remember back from my RRS that every time I turned, i.e. used the blinker while moving, a light would turn on, highlighting the area I was turning into. The light was momentarily at about a 90 degree angle. I did have curve lights on the RRS, but always thought of those two functions as independent of each other.

Now I have this older D3, without curve lights, and the "turning lights" do not work. I mentioned this to the dealer and he says (after spending 2 hours investigating this), that the "turning lights" are only on cars with curve lights.

Is this correct, or is he running away from fixing the "turning lights"?

Another thing is; the D3 has the blue-tooth connectivity to mobile phones, and it works fine. However, it will not read the phone book on my phone, and I found out it may have to do with the SW version on the BT kit. Hence I mentioned this to the dealer and again he tried for quite a while to upgrade the SW, but he says he can't get "in contact" with the BT box.

I hope to get some fast advice. The warranty expires in 2 weeks, and I would like to get these things done before that.

Thanks in advance,

KB

He's correct....cornering/static bending lights are generally only fitted to the adaptive bi-xenons, which have always been an option regardless of trim level.

I have them on my 06 HSE as standard Thumbs Up

the cornering lights come on if you turn sharp corners at low speed, or indicate at low speed. you should have a second bulb next to the side light bulb if you have that facility

I'll get a couple of photos

Had them as standard on my 06 HSE but they might have lost that for MY07, in line with LR's policy of continuous disimprovement. Rolling Eyes

Hi,

I should have been a bit more specific:)

This is actually a Danish spec D3, and I checked, there is only one light bulb in the position light casing. I guess this effectively means that the dealer is right; the car does not have the cornering light:(

What about the Blue-tooth question?

If there's a bulb holder it's got to be worth trying a bulb in it!

The single bulb holder is used for the position lights. As you can see on the pictures above, in the case where there is a turning light, there are actually two bulb holders, and in the pictures the smaller one is lit up, which is the positioning light. The big one is obviously the turning light, which I guess is difficult to catch "in action".

Regarding the Blue-tooth I keep finding references to this supposed upgrade which ought to be possible. Anyone else had problems with this?
