Finally got around to wiring up the remote module and gave it a first test in anger this morning.

Ambient temp of -4 C and after 20mins of the heater running the temp gauge was reading about 1/4. Car fired straight up, temp then dipped a little as I assume the extra load of warming the gearbox oil etc took affect.

Very happy, will keep this thread updated on any problems with this module.. if it ever becomes affordable again!

Nice one, I think its affordable with the other W-bus module the other guy sells on the bay. Can all be done for less than £60ish ?? I will check.
Come the spring summer if I can get some more cheaper wbus units I'm happy to put these together for any one on here.

I'm looking for a UK supplier found a guy selling USB w-bus kits to allow you to connect up to your lap top and use the software on a PC for fault finding and such .

I got mine, today, took about 2 weeks

I also bought the orange wire from the forum shops and have read as many of these threads as possible.

My box has a blue wire that is not stripped, not sure what this one is for as everyone says its only 3 wires.

I have brown, Blue, Red and yellow.

Any pointers on which one to use where?

@RRUK

“Mine” “i have” “it has”. Says us nothing, regarding “what” you have regarding brand, make, model, etc..

In this topic, different brands are advised or mentioned...

If you need help, tell us a little bit more please
 Best regards

Thanks Pete,

I guess I should have looked back at the eBay listing!

As there's no instructions and don't believe I have read anyone making reference to this bit yet, if you look at this picture below where I have circled in red pen, he says cut this wire for park heating. Does that mean I need to snip this bit if I want it to heat the car up (which I understood to be the entire point to this box of magic!)?

I don't think you need to cut it. Not seen it mentioned.
Try it without cutting first.

Thanks.

For the avoidance of doubt, when this kit is installed, switching it on purely gets the FBH working to warm the engine coolant etc? It doesn’t switch on your heater blower and warm the cabin prior to getting in, it just ensures when you do get in that the heater is instantly warm?
