Greetz everyone,
Fitted yesterday the steering wheel audio controls TLO sent me a few days ago. All went well, air bag didn't explode, controls work, are lit etc.
Yet the up/down button on radio is tuning up and down, not cycling through presets.
Checked the long post here on the forum, dating back from 2007 when Alinton explained first about fitting the audio controls. See
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic3843.ht...o+controls
Question about tuning up/down or presets was raised then too by several members. Some mentioned tuning was the normal thing, others stated up/down button operating the presets was standard (like it was in my previous LR, a D2). Discussion wasn't conclusive then. Suggestions were made it was a software thing.
Has time shed more light on this issue already? Anyone who could give a conclusive answer to this? Is it in the CCF and can it be set to the choice of the owner? If not, how come it's tuning on one car and presets on another one? And what does the up/down button does in your D3?
Thanks already for helping me out on this one When logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead, remember what the dormouse said: feed your head. (Jefferson Airplane)

Tunes - does not move you through the presets on the unit....
That applies to a base spec audio unit

Mine move me through the preset stations (6cd version) - but would prefer it to tune. I'm certain they can be set to do either - guess I should find time to read the manual...

Appreciate your intervention Wiggs, but no: tried pushing short, shorter and ultra-short. No difference: it stays with tuning. Pressing the MODE button short or holding it for 2 seconds does make a difference: short push changes between cd and radio, holding it switches to aux. As described in various posts here already. But up/down button: nope. See you have a HSE. Maybe it is a base spec thing indeed? Or a different setting in de software?
