Trouble removing add-ons
Well today I decided to remove a few more of the 'accessories' I've obtained over the last few years in readiness to change the motor at some time in the next few months.
Started with the ladder , which to my surprise only took about 30 minutes at the most. Changing the 19" MTR's for the original 18" Scorpions and the naff 'space' saver took a little longer but after a lot of huffing and puffing I got there in the end. 8)
Now.... two problems !!
1. Still can't get the Mantec plate off ...them bolts are still completely seized. This will be solved by a trip to Kens in the very near future to make good use of his 'man' sized equipment.
2. Can't seem to get the Torq-tune out ...got it half way out but it was all of a sudden it was sucked back in. I really want to store it in the garage with the other bits. Any ideas ??21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

are you hanging onto the ladder or getting rid? If the latter, then I'm interested.
cheers

Very strange, I encountered similar problems. The Mantec took a 3 foot socket wrench (on a 15mm bolt head) with a cut-off spanner/pipe combo on the nut And that was after a days worth of WD40 8)
i have a cutting torch if you get stuck Home of RLD Hidden winch mounts Spare wheel Locks Trailer Body Fabrication [email protected] D3/4 sump plates MY 14 sump plates and the Discovery Sport wheel protectors Discovery 5 wheel locks

If you consider its origins, I think you will need to tempt it out with some freshly opened Desperados beer Dr. Ian Malcolm:
