My trip to work today
Had a small job in Scotland today , so prepared my self yesterday by putting the MTR's back on ..some food / drink and warm clothes ( i have been stranded on the M6 before for 7 hours ..not in the D3 though )
Set off at 5.30 am ...nice and dark and had a few chances to use the roof lights ..there fantastic ..especially with snow on the roads ...everything around lights up
Washers never worked so called in first services and tryed to get them working ..even checked the fuse . I think it was just down to the cold ... -8 most of the way ..and god knows what the wind chill factor was as any spray was freezing on the windscreen and wiper blades .
Most of the way from Manchester to Carlisle there one only one lane on the motorway clear ..although i made my own a few times.
Came off at Scotland and made my way across to Aryshire ..found some nice empty roads
At work ..more snow comming down
Set off home ..A71 not too bad ..M74 and M6 quite bad in places ( only 2 lanes clear most of it )
So 5 1/4 hours to get there and 4 1/2 to get home ..few miles shy of 500 and filled up twice
Felt perfectly safe all the way with no drama what so ever . Even with the snow its such a nicer drive going up North
All in a days work G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Good to see your back home safely.
Adrian, you left about the right time, as it kicked off here again about 3-4pm and was still at it 10min ago.
