Aready proved the pre-cool works so assuming it stays cold I'll be testing the FBH in the morning. I'll be up at 6 to walk the dog so I'll pop the radio on and hopefully be able to set off to work in a preheated Disco half an hour later
Simon,
Not sure if I mentioned it but, yes, my S does have the settings menu. I added on the full satnav package (with that and the locking rear diff I like to think of it as an S+ ) but I don't thinks this'll make any difference as the two systems don't seem to be connected.
V8 upgrade???

Simon,
Yes you did thanks... and yet again I get told that it should not be there at all...
Had my Version 8 upgrade today... actually get heat out of the heater now with the dial at 22 and not past 24 ! Quite strange not being cold or too hot. Have to see if it cures my park brake errors and the very rare suspension errors.
Had the steering bump stops looked at too to stop the clanking at full lock (again random and was not constant).
Even have my drive away door locking setup now (by the dealer) for when I venture into those strange places called 'cities'
Now done 11500 miles and engine feels much stronger, power seems to be increasing weekly (for ever I hope LOL) and car is far from the sluggish beast the press proclaim.
Had used 1/2 litre of oil in last 1,000 miles (checked it a month or two ago).
Anyway... here's more happy motoring in the best of the best !
Still love it to bits !!!
Take care

Forgot to mention...
had a price for the first service too (15,000 miles).
£206 inc VAT
Pretty reasonable I would say for a vehicle of this ilk.

I'd heard it was cheap as there are a lot of sealed units that don't need checking such as the gear box DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
DS3 TDV6 HSE- Silver with Alpaca (new one) Gone
D4 HSE Lux - Montalcino Red Gone
Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel S

Kinda makes up for the other running costs... time off the road (and I don't mean in a muddy field or green lane), diesel costs (thanks Tony) etc etc.
Lets hope it stays this way.
Was also told that the Service Indicator 'WILL NOT' appear around 14,000 miles... we'll see. Not that I care... I am more than capable of seeing the ODO read 15,000

It sounds highly likely that there is some mix ups during the build. After all untill now Discoveries only came in three general styles (if you ignore the diesel / petrol option). Now we have three models each with a list of options longer than your arm.
Two stories on that subject
1) some Ozzie journalists at the Scotland launch reported driving away in a D3 badged as HSE V8 only to stop after about 30km to check under the bonnet to find the Tdv6
2) LR sent an initial batch of V8 HSEs to Sydney with only 5 seats instead of the 7 required.
With a bit of luck they will stuff my build up and give me a fully optioned HSE in lieu of an SE +

Mine was a "week 1" build - I keep waiting for all sorts of odd issues to pop up since it was built right after a holiday '05 LR3 HSE
Departed: '62 Series IIA, '02 Freelander, '03 Disco
