Trip computer displaying miles and kms

Does anyone have any answers as to why my trip computer one day decided to change from displaying Range/Trip/Av speed from metric to miles all by itself. Only the fuel consumption is still in l/100kms.

At my last service my dealer said they reset the trip computer and the problem was fixed but when I picked the car up it was back to miles again. This left them scratching their heads saying they'll "need to look at the problem further" at my next service.

I don't have audio controls on my steering wheel so I can't change the units myself.

Any ideas guys? Confused

Hi d3syd,
I have had the same problem recently. Check my post in this forum.

Dealer has told me that they need to replace the Instrument Pack.
They tried resetting it, but nothing worked.
D3 is booked in on Monday to have this done.

Thanks Discomaniac, does indeed seem like overkill. I'd hate to have such invasive 'surgery' done on my dashboard as almost inevitably rattles and squeeks follow. Rolling Eyes

Might see what my dealer comes up with at my next service and live with the problem for now.

Noticed on your other thread on this topic that some people suggested it might be something to do with the keys. Also someone suggested that we can alter the units via the CD player buttons. What do you make of this?

Cheers.

I think they maybe referring to the CD buttons on the Steering Wheel, which we don't have on the Australian SE version.
