Trip to the Cairngorms
I've just been up to Aviemore for a short skiing trip, after hearing report about the 'best snow for 25 years' I could not wait to get there. We took the caravan, and booked onto the Glenmore Lodge caravan site, which is excellent, and only a mile from the ski area.
As you can see, we had to dig the car and caravan onto the caravan site. I have never seen so much level snow in the UK before. There was so much, the trees were snapping under the weight. The D3 with the Cooper STT's handled the caravan and snow without any fuss whatsoever. The site owner was very complimentary when we booked in, commenting that I had a proper car with proper tyres. It was fun watching some chap trying to reverse a caravan into a snow drift with a Volvo

The skiing was excellent, the kids had a great time and Cairngorm was as good as it gets on Saturday and Sunday.
Here they are on the top of the Ptarmigan ski tow, and the simple fact that they are not getting blown away by the wind is a rare thing.

Many thanks to Mr & Mrs DSL for a most excellent lasagne and apple pie on Saturday, I hope the kids didn't wear out your PS3, and I hope you are enjoying using the Wii Fit
In the end, we came home when the snow melted, and boy did it melt quick. Yesterday morning was more like water skiing than snow skiing

Looks good Gareth, I would imagine not many volunteers to fill/empty the water.
And unlike summer campers, I guess you are not going to the showers in just shorts and a towel either.
I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Real shame the snow went, last Tuesday was -20c, this Tuesday was +12c! Most of the snow around Grantown is gone. Good to give PS3 & Wii a work out, Mrs DSL's idea to get the Wii sorted.

Nope, no volunteers at all. Thick ear soon sorted that issue
Showers were all frozen up, so used the caravan shower.

It was, and some folk were walking across it pulling kids in sledges behind them. Fools. The ice was thick, but wer'e not talking 'Ice Road Truckers' standard.
