Trim panel come loose below touch screen?

Can anyone help (PLEASE!) - I am totally useless at DIY / Car maintenance - anything like that... But this seems really simple and I dont know why I cant fix it.

The small piano black panel trim below the touch screen on my D4 has "popped out". I went to push it back and realised it wasn't glued on or anything - so lifted it up so I could get it in position to click it back in.

But I've lined up the grooves with the holes, pushed it down, and it wont "click" back into place. Nothing appears broken and I have no idea why it suddenly lifted up in the first place.

Any ideas? Is it really supposed to be as easy as pushing it back down - should it click shut? DO you have to angle it in in a strange way?

Anyone else had this? I really dont want to go the dealer and look a total div!

Cheers...

Hello 747_JK. I have removed this small panel from my GS. It may be slightly different on the XS/HSE. In my case I literally lined up the two "prongs" over the two holes in the plastic plinth and pushed the trim panel into place. There should be a silver clip on each prong that locates in to the two holes. I have put a picture in my gallery that shows the two holes that the prongs locate into. Hope this helps. By the way it required a relatively firm push to ensure the prongs were located correctly.

Thanks to both of you - I'll give this a go in the morning. Really appreciate the help, especially the pix.
