Transmission fault - recommendation
I am looking for recommendations for somewhere or someone to take a look at an issue our 2006 Discovery 3 has just started having.
We picked the car up 3 weeks ago and had no issues until yesterday. I was on a dual carriageway and went to kickdown to pass a car on a hill when a warning came up "Transmission fault limited gears available"
The gearbox did seem to be holding a lower gear. I stopped turned off the ignition and then back on and the fault cleared I drove another 20 miles or so and the fault didn't reappear.
My wife took the car to work this morning and not long after she had left home it happened again. She stopped and again it cleared with turning the ignition off and on again. But I am guessing it's something more than just a spurious fault.
We are in West Kent. Can anyone in this area recommend someone locally who could possibly diagnose the issue please? I don't really want to go to a main dealer.
Fortunately it is still under warranty. I'm just hoping that it's nothing too major.

Just from similar experience, if it’s when you try to accelerate hard and you get the warnings come up, think about the turbo actuator arm.
You can check it quickly, about an hour or so
Will try post a link

Getting the fault codes read will be useful - can you not just pop back to where you bought it and ask them to give let you know what faults have been logged? Sounds like an issue I was having with the solenoid valves on the gearbox until I got mine rebuilt last year.2020 SDV6 D5 HSE, Carpathian Grey +

The diagnosis isn't great unfortunately it threw up a "P0730 incorrect gear ratio" code, and the fluid smells burnt, pointing to something mechanical going wrong. We are now getting in touch with the Warranty people to get the required repairs underway.
Even after such a short amount of time with it, this hasn't put me off owning it. It's already got under my skin.
