Transmission ecu not responding

Any advice please
I recently suffered water damage to the auto gearbox selector by leaving the sunroof open on my D3 auto.
I have changed the gear selector, and reterminated the splices on the wiring loom but my faultmate
Will not connect to the Transmission ecu. I'm just wondering if its possible that the short I the selector has damaged the ecu
Any advise would be greatly appreciated as I just going round I circles

Whats the faults showing, the gearbox ecu is inside the box, did you disturb the 4x4 ecu behind the battery, also do a hard reset and see if that helps

The connector under the centre console is a good place to start

Thanks. But the full story is after the water ingress I drove the disco for about 12miles when it broke down and had to be recovered
The engine would crank over but not run.

Faul codes showed crank sensor failure so after drying out all the electrics etc I removed the gearbox and changed the crank sensor and firing ring , the whole job went smoothly no issues at all.
But went to restart the car and it would not even crank over. Looking for the fault I fired up the faultmate thinking it could be the interlock between the N & P selector stopping the engine cranking .
But as I say the faultmate will not read the Transmission ecu.

Thanks I stripped the full centre console dried and cleaned all the plugs and connectors.
The selector plugs showed water damage so I replaced the selector but still nothing.
