How to trace source of C1B21 fault?

I have an intermittant, yet persistent fault, C1B21, which appears almost every time the D3 is started. This is apparently related to the temperature sensor on the suspension compressor.

I have recently replaced the compressor with a brand new one and still have the same issue. As soon as the ignition is turned on (without starting the motor) the amber light comes on and my Nanocom shows a temp of 199C on the compressor. So, I'm pretty sure I have a wiring issue somewhere...

From searching on here I have the following areas to investigate:
Passenger wheel arch wiring & blocks (front and rear)
Rear diff/EPB module area wiring & blocks
    Connectors behind battery box
    All fuses
    Earthing points

Anything I have missed? Where are the earthing points I need to check?

Interestingly, if I put the car into extended mode, the warning clears and then when switching back to normal mode it comes back on, which to me suggests movement of a wiring loom or connector somewhere.
 Cheers,

Gareth

Thanks but I've already seen that and it doesn't move me forward much.

I spent far too many hours tonight lying out in the cold poking and prodding... I've wiggled as much of the wiring loom as I can reach from the compressor/motor all the way back along the chassis and up to the junction behind the front passenger headlight. I've checked the junction boxes behind the battery box.

Nothing seems to make a difference.

I have noticed that the temperature of the compressor is only ever 9 or 199 - no other value.

Whereabout is the EAS ECU?
 Cheers,

Gareth

I've spent far too many hours on my back in the cold wrestling with this over the past fortnight...

Flack came and had a go with me today. With two people, it was a lot easier to try and trace wiring issues, however I'm still none the wiser.

Flack mostly confirmed my own findings, in that most things seem to be working ok.

Currently suspect it is the EAS ECU so looking to pick up a 2nd hand one to try.

Fun Big Cry
 Cheers,

Gareth

An update

I tried a different EAS ECU - no difference.

In a fit of frustration it’s in the local Land Rover dealers for them to figure it out...

They’ve just called and stated it’s a seized compressor (less than 6 months old and been on the car less than that) so it needs replacing. If you’re reading this Flack, looks like your first gut feeling of it being a knackered compressor was right. I’ll DM you more info...

So now I need to get it back and speak to AF about a replacement compressor. Might go for an AMK this time seeing as I’ve had no luck with the Hitachi!

The garage also identified one of the front lower arms has some play in it.

The kindly offered to replace the lower arm and fit a new compressor all for the tidy sum of £2200... Erm, no thanks!
 Cheers,

Gareth
