TPMS deactivation

Is there a chance, to get the tire pressure
system deactivated?
I am using different wheel sets, they do not have
the sensors, consequentlx I have always
the warnings on the display and the yellow
warning light on.
My LR specialist has no idea.

Dont think LR are allowed to switch them off.

The IID Tool switches them off on my D4 but not sure about earlier models but would imagine you still can Thumbs Up

Hi Gary,

Think its only on vehicles that had them fitted from the factory after they were compulsory on new cars etc. Asked LR to switch mine back on once as the vehicle was with them anyhow and they said their system was unable to activate or disable them Rolling Eyes

ISTR all vehicles registered after 2008 in UK must have them fitted and working by law.
ISTR BMW had an issue with the legislation because their TPM system worked through the ABS system not actual pressure.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I thought it was 2012 in the uk?

BMW and audi used a system that worked out the revolutions of each wheel.

My Hyundai and Skoda had the wheel revs type . If I remember correctly the legislation didn't specify how the low pressure was to be determined.

Tpms was legally required from Nov. 2014 onwards in EU for new vehicles.
My 2007 MY D3 comes originally from CH, it was an option in 2007.
Deactivation is legally allowed on vehicles registered before 11/2014.
Will have to find someone with the right tool.
Thx for info.
