Toyota Prius - Thinking of getting one
THIS IS NOT A JOKE
I am considering a Toyota Prius as a company car. It would not replace the D3 of course, but I need a car to run to and from work and to London where we have a lot of customers. I am not keen on paying lot's of company car tax, so as a work tool the Toyota seems to make sense. It is £15 a year road tax, no congestion charge and more importantly the company car tax is next to nothing as is the fuel benefit.
Has anybody driven one long term.
Remember this is not a car for fun or to save the planet, it is just going to be a work tool.

From a tax and congestion charge perspective I'd say it is a 'no-brainer', they are weird looking things but they do what they do pretty well by all accounts.2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Andy,
I think Spotter runs one along with Craig SL. I seem to think they are happy with them.
Forget the relatively low costs for tax etc. Have you seen the price of them? An "eco" Focus or similar may prove to be a better bet if you do have to run that kind of car. Have you done the sums on running two vehicles vs running one that has higher per-mile running costs? When I looked at getting a Panda to run as a second car to save fuel etc. the maths just didn't work out.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Not compliant with the new London Low Emission Zone, so will get nailed for a charge many times higher than the congestion charge. Another piece of spite left over from Red KenI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

on the eco front they are nothing more than a con, the fuel figures they claim are next to impossible to get in the real world, i've tried, they are nothing more than a very clever marketing ploy that the government has fallen for by giving no tax etc etc.
the impact of the batterys and the distance the components travel to be made far outweighs any "benefit" to the environment...
What a load of old B CKS So glad I'm one of the poor uncivilised pond life with a low standard of living that reside out in the sticks. It's great. I don't even have to understand what the words congestion charge and more importantly Toyota Prius mean ???
Prius has a silent "r". Pronounced Pious. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
