Milenco have finally updated their Grand Aero Mirrors to better fit the curved profile of the LR mirrors.

Much better than messing around with the additional LR pads.
I think I will be eBaying the brand new still unopened Grand Aeros I got for Christmas and upgrading to the new Platinum ones.

Never knew there were additional Land Rover pads. What do they look like and what do they do? A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

In milenco's own words:
The Aero LR Pads fit all 2014 onwards Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover.
They give an enhanced grip by keying in to the gap on the vehicle mirror.
Only fit 1 clamp at a time holding the clamp at about a 30 deg angle with the gripper pad canted forwards so that the blade in the pad inserts into the slot in the top of the mirrors.
An amount of mechanical dexterity and sympathy is required to ensure precise engagement.
Once both clamps are correctly fitted insert the bar.

The new Platinum fixings seem to negate the need for "mechanical dexterity and sympathy".

I have bagged a good deal on the Platinum and thought I should share in case anyone else is in the market.
DavanShop online have them listed at £90 cheaper than most others - but they also have an active discount code DAVAN15 that was meant to expire on 14th Feb but is still active.
So I have got the new Platinum for £76.50 which seems a great deal. I added a few other basic things to my order to get above the spend £100 for FOC delivery.

Me either - I just fit them on the bottom of the mirror casing where it's pretty flat 2014 D4 XS

^ did that with mine and thought I’d found the ideal solution ....... until I locked the doors.
Mirrors folded in and mirror assembly hit the upper door panels. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Thanks for the info Froogle. Actually, those are the pads that I've been using for ages. I read your original post as meaning there was something else we might use as well on a Land Rover but could not think what it might be!
I keep the clamps on the bar and fit the complete assembly on the top of the mirror. Goes on easily and one can see what one is doing with the clamps. I have taken advantage of the longer arms now available, and rarely have to make more than a minor adjustment to get the view I want.
Good of you to pass on how to get the new style mirrors at a reduced price. I think they are really ugly (maybe their marketing people are on furlough) but do look strong. I wonder what will happen in real life when one of them gets clouted by a vehicle going the other way and pulls off. I fear some very expensive bits will go with the mirror! I use Maypole Deluxe towing mirrors, similar to Milenco, but way better priced (from£25 set) AND they’ve got a strong rubber band going over the mirror cap, that gives additional security to fitting.
Available in flat, convex or dual glass.

I’m still using the original Aeros with the bicycle inner tube section around the lower clamp for added grip. That has worked for a few thousand towing miles, D3 and D4 👍

Have you got any pics of them fitted on the Disco that you can share?
Is the LR OEM an extra wide mirror suitable for an 8ft van?
