Towing electrics
Am I right in thinking I'll need 13 pin electrics for a caravan and if I wanted to tow a trailer I can use an adapter for 7 pin ?
I'm new to caravans but do have a trailer that is getting proper full of junk, need to get my Disco sorted !Velar MY18 D180 S Narvik

Yes, you can get an adaptor to change from 13 to 7 pin that sits between the socket on the car and the plug on the cable.

Until recently caravans had twin 7 pin electrics BUT nowadays all or most new caravans come with single 13 pin electrics - a much better and more secure system.
So if you have or are getting a new caravan 13 pin is what you want HOWEVER don't fret over it as adaptors for both systems are available at most caravan dealers. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF
