Tow cover mod.

I recently fitted the Pitch Perfect kit which is two pairs of lights used to level across the axle first and then for and aft. The problem I had was that I would have to remove the tow cover to see the lights for the across axle level.
I called on the help of Super Mum (89 years old) who with a supply of window material from Specialised covers, made me a small window through which the lights can be seen. It's edged just like the other front light windows and works a treat. Thumbs Up

The white glow is a reflector caught in the flash.

Lol!
It's a light system which can be seen from the car which tells you when the caravan is level across the axle.
See the web site here http://www.pitchperfect-uk.com/
It's meant to make life easier if you use fields for pitching in. You can pull forward until both lights come on and it's level. Same applies to for and aft levelling by jockey wheel, when both lights illuminate. you're level.

Robbie, not you too!
The pic shows the OSF of my caravan with the tow cover on. the bottom window with the white glow is the new window my Mum made so I could see the two red lights which indicate the caravans level.
That is it, nothing more, just wanted my Mums work shown off so I could tell her it was appreciated but now I feel I should lock her back in the attic. Whistle

Well to my eyes it still looks like an elephant in a Land Rover, but I grant you that it is the offside.

I've done the £ shop spirit level argument to death.
Let me explain where I'm coming from and you can make your mind up based on a full understanding.
I often take the caravan to site on my own whilst the wife is at work, this means it's all ready to go as soon as she gets home, all she does is get changed and hop in the Disco to be driven to site where the caravan awaits, set up and central heating on. The sites I tend to use are CL's/CS's which are usually a field. With this kit I can see at a glance that the van is level or not across the axles without getting out of my car. When it's level, both lights illuminate. I then just need to apply the handbrake and drop the jockey wheel. Once unhitched I either lower or raise the front by the jockey wheel until the second pair of lights are illuminated. If only one light is illuminated, thats the low side or end. Once this has been done it's just a case of whizzing the corner steadies down with the cordless drill. Job done. I can also do it in the dark on my own which has some further advantages over a spirit level. I've been caravaning for nearly 30 years so fully understand how to level a caravan in the usual way but wanted something that would make it easier on my own. I found it with this gadget, it works a treat and makes setting up on my own a doddle. I don't have to keep jumping out to check the spirit level and jumping back to pull the caravan onto ramps etc. Saves me a load of mucking about. Does this now make sense? Thumbs Up

I got mine from the Camping and Caravan club as you get free delivery and a discount. I think it cost me £57.60 and is a doddle to fit, so long as you read the instructions first. Thumbs Up

I have some left over. My Mum used a bit of spare tape from the winter cover to "frame" the window to add strength. It was folded over the edge of the window material and stitched, then the window was stitched to the tow cover, then I cut the back out.
The camera was an Iphone in the dark which was a hand me down from my Daughter three days ago.
Maplecottage, send me a PM with your address and I'll send some window and tape. Thumbs Up
