LR item VV0500020
I purchased on of these recently and fitted it yesterday. What a big job to fit! I also fitted the tow bar electrics at the same time. If anyone is considering getting one of these tow bar holders, then I wouldn't bother. They're a lot of work to fit and when done, it is difficult to get the tow bar in the storage holder too, as it is all very tight. The fuse holder for the tow bar electrics gets in the way some what too.
I think you'd be better off saving the money and just stuffing some cardboard or bubble wrap in the side pocket to stop the tow bar from rattling.
Here's what needs to be removed to fit the tow bar storage unit:
You need to remove the 2nd row seat belt anchoring, the trim around the 3rd row seat latch and then the whole side panel in the rear. There's plenty of opportunity to break a clip or plastic lug. I found one clip and two lugs already broken, obviously done during the manufacture.

.
The finished job, with the tow bar in it's holder.

Its standard on HSEs. My first car was a factory fitted towpack so had the storage, my new one was a dealer fit so I didn't get it. I never used the storage once!!DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

You made a meal of that job Matt, though possibly you had to because of the rear aircon? Mine took about 10 mins to fit and I didn't need to remove the panel, just 'persuaded' the holder into place The End
I'm almost glad I've not got rear air-con - that space is where I've stashed

I do have it and its great, keeps the kids quiet too, so I don't need the gaffer tape to keep them quiet and the hi viz tabbard to warn other cars and the tow rope is far too big to go in that space, its in a seperate bag with gloves and the first aid kit etc DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I have rear aircon and managed to fit the holder without removing the panel or seatbelt fixing, but what a struggle. As you say, the instructions dont do justice to the level of difficulty the installation of this simple but highly engineered retainer !
