But doesn't this include the steelwork that the towball goes into or this that part of the D3 as it comes out of the factory? On the car before the Discovery the towbar plus fitting c/w electrics, and most of the plugs were available at the back, was over £700.00.

Its the removable one, plugs straight into the car where you probably have an orange bung, plenty on ebay even new under £200

the mount for the tow bar is already built in to the car - all you have to do is ram the towbar home and it is fitted.
Not sure how it compares to the LR prices for supply/ fit of a tow bar and electrics.2014 D4 XS

I'd guess it as:
Towball £250
Wiring and socket £100
Labour 2hrs at £60 = £120
or thereabouts? Nearly £500 quid seems expensive but a man's got to earn a living
