Tow Ball Height Question before I tow my Caravan

Hi thanks for all the advice before, ! I fitted the Towtrust TL1 without any issue last weekend, and ordered the standard pro-tow ball with it. not the Genuine Al-ko one.

I fitted this the lower set of holes on the tow bar and did a test hitch, but the caravan Alko anti-snake comes into contact with the top of the tow bar plate.

So I moved the tow bar up to the top fixed holes and its all good now.

but measuring the height to the centre of the ball is 18.5inches from the ground ??

to be honest that sounds to hight to me , mind you my drive isn't flat and not sure if the disco has levelled its self !

any advise on this and what is the maximum height a tow ball should be,

Cheers
Mark

Have a look at the heights mentioned in here to check

The believe genuine ALKO tow ball sticks out further than a standard one specifically to stop the hitch fouling the plate . Put a spacer between the ball and tow bar.

Does sound a little high.

May be worth just checking the distance from the plate to the centre of the ball. Mine with the same bar as you is at around 80mm and the alko fitted fine.

At the end of the day as long as the van sits level you will be able to achieve good nose weight.

Good luck
