touch up paint - alloy wheels

I've got a couple of scuffs on one of mey alloy wheels (I think from the refitting of a tyre after a puncture), mainly they are around the rim but there is one or two on the middle part of the wheel (Type 1 18" S).

I don't want to go for a full refurb at the moment (£50 + VAT is a bit steep for now) but I understand that LR do a touch-up pen (Sparkle Silver) that is designed for alloy wheels.

Has anyone used one? Do they work? Are there any tips for makig it the best job possible? (I'm not expecting a perfect finish - just better than it is now)

Really depends on where the scuff is

Ken,

Here is a (rather poor) picture

The scuffs around the rim seem to be two different types.

The ones at the top seem to have just scratched off the paint down to the alloy, where the one at the bottom seemst to be much more typical of a kerbing (deep scratches into the alloy itself).

The scuff to the left of the centre is again just the paint and is on the angled piece of the wheel.

Any advice would be appreciated Thumbs Up - although I'm not expecting to get back to a "perfect" finish.[/img]

Best way is break the bead first then scotch pad the kerbing rim smooth then paint

Put paper between the tyre and rim as alloy dust is a Censored to shift

I'd leave the one on the face Thumbs Up

I'd echo what Ken said ,esp the one in the middle
