Torque Convertor and WD
Got the dreaded "driving over cobbles" feeling now when accelerating through the 30 - 40mph band in 3rd, worse up hills and/or heavily loaded. From that and other discussions it looks like my TC is on the way out at 135k, even though I changed the oil at 83k.
Has anyone had the TC replaced c/o WD and at what stage symptom-wise?

I have exactly the same symptoms ....
There are at least 6 of us with TC and roughly 28 to 35 mph change issues
I had the oil changed too ...... wonder why its the same gear though every time D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.

Hello.
We got our TC changed in Oct 2013 (at 75k or so) under WD. It was shuddering under load up hills at 20-25mph. It was getting worse so got the local gearbox outfit to test drive it and state it was malfunctioning.
For once I used their garage rather than doing the claiming back thing.
Of course the local garage wasn't able to do the work so it was shipped up to Midland Transmissions.
Final bill was £1800 or so, but that did include a 20% mark up from the middle man.(Remap, EGRs Blanked,Silicon I/C hose) from BAS, (Torque Convertor, Compressor, FL Wishbones, Alternator) by WD, Belts by Newbury4x4, Megaflush+extra cooler by GRGB, Diff+Transfer oils, ARB Bushes, Fuel filter, Fixed Towbar, Remote FBH.
The 'z' is silent

Just been speaking with chap at Bristol Transmissions and got it booked in there for when back home. They deal with WD so should be fine on that front. From the symptoms the very helpful chap thinks it's TC issues.
Just seen this, I had mine replaced by WD about 2 years ago went to Barnsley auto transmissions cost £3k which I had to pay then claim back, they were a bit reluctant at first but then they agreed just make sure everything is in order with your paperwork beforehand.
Pm me your number if ya need any more info and I will give you a ring

Have read up on Dr Tranny and kind of concluded it delays the inevitable rather than fixing anything properly. Best get it fixed, especially as still in warranty.
Thanks for the offer.

Well, she's in with Bristol Transmissions today. Had a gander in the workshop, one little campervan, one normal car and three LRs, a Freebie 1, D2 and a D3. Will keep peeps up to date on developments. Fingers crossed from a warranty point of view.

Check the small print with WD. I was looking to get an extra warranty with them, however my gearbox broke first with worst case estimate of £3k
When I was looking at the exemptions I'm sure I noted a mileage limit Dave
