i have a couple of questions, how much more power does this upgrade give and does it cause the vehicle to smoke more. also i already get 30mpg and better so will this be improved or will it do as my defender td5 did and actualy drop after the upgrade (different company upgrade). also will land rover in advertantly erase it or throw a fit the next time it goes in for a service. and how much does it cost.
many thanks jim .
And also what about warranty

MPG improvements are consistently in the 8-12% range - providing your driving style doesn't change!
All diesels smoke to some extent but if you drive 'carefully' enough to consistently get 30mpg+ then you're unlikely to provoke any smoke by spirited driving...
As the tune is transparent to dealer diagnostics (but not to a test-drive by the tech) it's entirely possible that the tune may be overwritten - in such an event, I'll re-apply the tune for as long as you own the vehicle
Cost to forum members is £580.00 + vat
As far as warranty is concerned, it's no different to other modifications (EGR blanking etc.) and LR would have to prove that the tune caused any premature component failure although I can say that the tune does not exceed any design parameters of the powertrain or drivetrain

Hello 10forcash
as you are aware i have emailed you regarding the tune i would like to have this done mainly for fuel economy
as well as the performance. However i do have some issuse's here. No 1 Ihad a new range rover chipped in 2000 by a very well known company 17000 miles later the engine went bang cost to me £6000 because land rover discovered the chip. I would like to know whether you or your company would get involved in any issues should they arise

Agree with all of the above but it is worth it alone just to improve the drivability of the car, esp when overtaking.

The first thing is that tuning has moved on a great deal since 2000 - as have Landrover, as mentioned above the extra 48bhp is nowhere near the design limits of the TDV6 and the tune specifically boosts certain areas of the map, not the 'broad brush' approach of the plug-ins or some of the earlier methods
Dependent upon the circumstances and the cause of the failure yes, I would get involved with a refused warranty claim on any Torq-Tuned vehicle.

Entirely your choice, I've tuned several D3's literally hours after delivery although I always think you'll get a better sense of value-for-money if you drive it in standard tune first

As a former heavy sceptic of remapping, I asked all the questions you guys are asking TFC now. Once you have discussed the issues in depth, applied sensible logic, appreciated the benefits and eradicated your fears ...you realise that it has to be done
13 months and 15k miles later...services and several items of (unrelated) warranty work carried out without question. .....more importantly...still a big on my face 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Or you just go "WTF" one day, send TFC a PM and out he comes with his box of tricks and you end up with a feckin big permagrin and the ability to pi%% off many a motor at the traffic light getaway....

Just go into your gallery, open up the picture and there will be a tab at the bottom saying "DELETE THIS FILE". Quick, before anyone else sees 2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7
