Service Intervals
I have read on here that the first service for the D3 happens at 15,000 miles. I am getting a service indicator saying that my car is due one now (circa 9,000 miles). What is the true interval that I should be adhering to?

Certainly the service interval for the TDV6 is 15000 miles.
Maybe different for the V8 petrol (is yours a V8 petrol? )

Nope - I have a TDV6. Might just call the stealer to confirm. Might be worth booking it in for an oil change and for them to fix my passenger side wheel arch.06 Bonatti Grey HSE, Ebony Interior with Privacy Glass & Rubbing Strips.

The service interval is either 15K miles or 12 months, had to have mine serviced when it had only done 8K miles. How old is your D3?1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

So is the service indicator a time based thing?
I have done 45000 miles in 26 months (therefore had 3 services) and never had a service indicator

From what I have read on this site I believe that the service interval does not work on the mileage but just the time from last service (or from the PDI).1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Didn't get anything out of mine right up to and including the day of its service which was 363 days after I bought it - was only on 10500 miles though Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm told that the service indicator can be set to either miles or time. Mine was set to 'miles', so no warning of the service first time around (low milage). Having been set to 'time' the service indicator worked as a reminder for the next service at the 2 year point.
The bad news is that the service team cannot reset the thing since its second service. Allegedly it's a software issue 'under investigation' by LR. They have had 3 goes so far, but it now only reminds me that my service is 9 days 'overdue'.
Not a major fault, but a bit of a pain having to take it to the garage and back again and again.

Anyone know how this works. i.e my indicator shows with a value of 7. Does that mean due in seven days? What does overdue look like. Mine is due this month.Gavin.
