D3 Wouldn't Move

Washed the D3 the other day, got in the next day to go out and it wouldn't move, felt like rear nearside brake holding fast. Unfortunately it was in the garage so only had reverse option but even getting it to rock a bit it still wouldn't budge, got out and pushed from nearside front had to do it a couple of times the heard a really load clunk, it now moved. Why did this happen and why was the car not able to release itself until i manually pushed it?Should i report it to dealer.

It sounds like the brakes had rusted firm (not solid) and there was sufficient corrosion to hold. But definately report it discodownunder. It might be something more serious than what happened to me once before.

I ran the vehicle (not the D3) over a sprinkler to wash sand and mud out of those bits that it was too hard to reach from the side of the car. Next day, it was hard to release the brakes but because of the steep angle of my driveway the car moved off after I released the handbrake but with a loud sound as the binding brake let go.

The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Easy! That'll be the really expensive antique vase your other half rested behind your wheel while looking for the key to unlock the D3, before getting distracted and wondering off to do something else.......

Find that when I wash the D3 and don't use it for a few days, the brake linings 'bond with the discs'.
But after a few extra revs, all I get is a 'tug' before it releases.
When I wash it and not going to use it, I now leave the park brake Off and just position it in 'P' [read 'First Gear' for manuals].
[you should do the same with any vehicle that will be unused for a period of time.]

But remember ..... keep smiling Very Happy ... after all it is the ultimate ...
