D3 owner needs D4 owners help.

Hello d4 people. Bow down

I am so poor I can only afford to own a D3 so please have pity on me Smile

On a serious note, I am doing a face lift on mine and am planning on having a friend cut the front wings down. I trust him to do the work at he builds yachts as a job so precision is a must for him. Someone I know is sourcing D4 wings and bumper for me but they won't be available for a week or so. So this is just a quick fix until then.

I am asking if a few of you could possibly measure your front wings length. I need the length from where the front light touched the wing along to the back of the wing where it joins the front door. Need the measurement along the crease just under the side repeater.

Any help or advice is much appreciated.

Thanks all

Thank you. I'm hoping I get a few more replies just so I can get an average. Did you measure butt upto the lens or just the wing itself. Also did you use a metal ruler, dress making tape or a retractable floppy type. Rolling Eyes only asking because the last one sometimes the little tab at the end wobbles and comes loose. The dress making tape may have stretched over time ( although I'm guessing you don't so much dress making) Wink
But seriously thank you for doing that.
If you REALLY wanted to help your post count I could do with the measurements along the two ridges where the wing disappears up under the bonnet and a third at the very bottom as the front part of the arch to the edge of the wing the tiny bit ( probably a couple of cm's). Your welcome to reply in three separate posts too Thumbs Up

Dangerdave it's 6.54am and light out so come on.

Thanks

Bottom part is 90mm crease to crease, just behind arch moulding,
Top ridge is 1035 mm , it is slightly cut in at the rear end and the one along the top of the side repeater is 1060mm, hope that helps

Why not wait until you have the correct parts?

Or even better, leave the D3 as the designer intended as the early models are easily the most 'right' looking of the D3/D4 family and use the money for a BAS remap.
