AFAIK the D3 should automatically dim in poor light, unlike my current D4 which changes to a different colour set in the dark. I think the dimming was a bit flaky in the early models and I believe flickering screens were experienced by some.

Is this a D3 or D4 as you have posted in the D4 electronics section. If it is a D4 it changes automatically as the light dims to a diffrent setting, not sure if this is down to the sensor or when the lights are turned on. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Not all D4's change automatically, there are a few of us that seem to have that feature missing

To change it manually you need to go into the sat nav set up Cheers Ian

Hi,
Driving myself an mid 2012 Disco4 here is what I've found:
I was fiddling with the options and settings in Nav and Setup and doing it 21 different ways - it did not work. My dealer also was confused but did not give up, did change sensors, updated firmware - not that pleasing result.
An exchange of a piece of hardware (control panel) in the end was the right way.
Voila - now my sat nav switches automatically from day to night (and vice versa) may it be night or simply a tunnel.
