I was having a look at the spare wheel the other day and noticed it was flat so I took it off and realized it was the valve that went. My biggest worry was the state of the rim and how rusted it was, even the mechanism holding it there was rusted quite heavily.
So as I am clueless on tyres I thought I'd ask for some help here. I have noticed that you can get a wheel protector but this is more to stop it from getting stolen than protect the wheel I understand.
I'm looking for suggestions on what to get as mentioned I'm clueless. Also is there anything that could be done to protect the tyre while it is under the vehicle?

I think Amossis is asking
" how to keep your spare wheel clean?"
The only answer I can come up with is remove it every now and then and clean it up.

I had a LR wheel cover fitted from new very simple plastic type cover, it has kept the spare spotlessly clean for the last seven years, I don't know if they are still available. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
You may consider a spare wheel protector from RLD, I have one; it does keep things rather cleaner than they might otherwise be.
If you have to replace the winch at any time go for the D4 version, which is better & cheaper than the D£ version - buy from TLO with a discount of course!
