Off-road wheel advice please.. |
|
Looks like plan B of buying a cheapish Defender for messing about in is a non-starter,sadly,so looks like Plan A might be back on.
Plan A was a 2nd set of wheels with ATR tyres,so with that in mind I have a couple of questions.
Firstly,would I be right in thinking I can't go below 19" on a MY2012 ?
Secondly,it that is the case, these have been discussed before on here, but would they fit the bill ?

really don't want to pay silly money,as they'll probably only get used a few times a year "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

That is an exchange set, so would be your only ones.
Secondly, when I had black on my D3 it only went off road once and they were scratched, not significantly but enough to be a pain, and that was taking it very easily. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I have a cunning plan as far as the "exchange" part goes Dave...Paul has a set of 17's he never uses....
The black part did concern me a bit...and I take your point....
I'm going to be forking out for a new set of 19" GG's,so really looking for a cheapish set of alloys......D4 ones seem to be very expensive "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

If it's only for a few days of playing a year then why not D3 HSE alloys with GY MTR's on? 2014 D4 XS

Reading the terms they have to be "like for like" sets 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

That's another cunning plan gone south
Hmm...bring in your old set,we give you another old set back, tarted up a bit...and then you give us £300....Wish I'd thought of that as a business plan

makes sense ...might widen the search a bit "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

When I got my current D4 I planned on keeping the AT's on permanently and didn't want to put D3 HSE wheels on it so I bought a set of Alloys on Ebay (same wheels as factory fitted) with brand new road tyres on and then took the road tyres off and flogged them on here so ending up with a cheap set of brand new alloys Cheers Ian
