Hi all,
last year, I sorted out the necessary info to get an tow bar for my D3 (here: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic82192.html ). In the meantime, the D3 misbehaved and currently we're touring Scotland in our shiny new D4. Of course I didn't order a tow bar, I decided I wouldn't need one.
In the meantime, as always during holidays, I noticed the value of a tow bar to support some extra luggage space (the bak-rak, for example). So probably I still need the tow bar after all. Learning from this forum, I think I simply need that hook and, optionally the electric kit and the activation. I figure that I won't need the electric kit if I just use the bak-rak and keep lights and number plate clearly visible.
Is that assumption correct? Can I just buy that "hook" somewhere, pop it in, mount a bak rak and be happy?
Thanks and cheerio,
Thorsten

Yes, that's exactly what you can do. Don't pay full price for a bar either, you can pick one up for less than £100 if you can be patient 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Thanks Martin, for the quick answer. Concerning the £100 - I guess I don't really have time to wait too long...
I'll see what a WTB ad will bring.
Cheerio,
