Al, I had a series of bulb failures on another car. Problem turned out to be the bulbs themselves. Inspection of where the filament was trapped into the suspending arms showed it was badly crimped on one side. The heat/cool cycle quickly opened this crimp up until it let go of the filament. Would last anything from 6 days to 6 months before giving up the ghost.

I gave up getting cheap (actually IMHO expensive for what they were) Halfords bulbs and went for proper Bosch ones instead - problem sorted and cheaper in the long run as I never replaced them again.

Just another possibility if your alternator regulator checks out OK.

Edit : NoDo$h, I agree. My Volvo tracked every single external light on the car. Was a bit wierd when an indicator bulb went though, as information display would cycle between being blank and "Left Indicator Bulb Failure" with the blinking
