Best tyres to put on a D4 |
|
Need a couple of new tyres on a 2010 D4 HSE I am buying. Dealer says I can choose from Michelin, Goodyear or Pirelli
Car will be used on road 99.9% of the time and then 0.1% mounting grass verges in country lanes
Any preference & why?

I've always liked Michelin tyres on my cars and vans as I've always had decent wear and performance out of them, but I've never had them on a Disco. Pirelli's tend to last about 15k so IMHO or expensive. Maybe drop Andy at AJS a pm, he'll be in a better position than most to give advice. Club Exped trailer

Only ever had Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on my D3 & D4.
Managed to get circa 20k per set out of mine but only drive steady, well most of the time.
Gone over to Grabber AT's now looking forward to 40k plus but not really an option for you. 2015 D4 HSE in Corris Grey
All below gone but still with happy memories

2006 D3 S in Zermatt Silver

Spikeytop.
As the Goodyear HP is no longer available and as a suitable alternative I put Goodyear Efficient Grip on the front last week at £124 + Vat each. Seem ok, quiet on the road and a smooth ride, from the manufacturers information they should also be better on MPG. I use the D3 mainly on the road but some grassy fields while towing my trailer with sometimes up to 3 ton on the back.
