New Baby has arriced! - Trip Computer questions
Gang,
After weeks of sitting on the sidelines and reading every word off every brochure and every posting on this forum, I finally picked up my SE yesterday morning. What a dream of a car!! This is my fifth disco (first D3) and each new one is a remarkable improvement on the previous. What will they be like in another three years!!!
Anyway, I have a question regerding the trip computer so advise will be appreciated.
I have read the manual and looked at each of the pieces of information but think there should be more features. I remember reading somewhere (probably here) that people were looking at overall mpg as well as being able to re-set the mpg calculation when filling up. I also thought that you could look at the "instant" mpg. Is the single average mpg view the only mpg view?
Also, does anyone know whether there is any re-calibration of the calculations after the first re-fill? I am trying to get my head round whether the fuel is metered for the mpg calcs or whether the calculatins rely on comparing the first full tank with the mileage to calibrate the computer. I am still on my first tank and the mpg isn't looking too good so was hoping that there would be some kind of re-calibration once an accurate amount of fuel ha =d been used.
its not that sophisticated....reset does just that , resets all and it shows an average since last reset......err thats about it, instant mpg is pretty useless and not a function of the D3.......shame as a heavy getaway on a V8 might not get above whole numbers!2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

welcome to the SHOW!!
indeed the manual is a generic one and applies to all different versions (V8 & V6 plus all their variations...)
eventually you will get to know well your lovely D3....
have fun!

Oh well, at least I'm not missing something! :
Do you know whether there is some "inteligence" that matches a tank refill with the miles covered to get to a more accurate calculation or is there simply a flow meter that registers the amount of diesel pumped?

My "best" as below. I have seen 3 point something but that was Mossy's V8.
