Scotland Road Trip Pictures

As some of you know, I have been away the last 10 days on a 1700 mile road trip around Scotland. Basically, I went from Carlisle to Oban, across to The Isles of Barra, South Uist, Benbeccula and North Uist, over to Harris and Lewis. Then from storoway over to ullapool and down to Inverness to see some relatives. The weather was so good I then decided to go back up north via the more scenic west coast and up to Thurso, Dunnet Head and John O Groats. I then came back down to Aviemore and the cairngorms, and then over to Loch Ness and back via Pitlochry and Stirling.

Was a fantastic trip, a mix of camping and staying with friends, it could not have gone better, and the weather was great.

Some pictures below of the fantastic scenery of this unspoiled part of the UK :

Looks like you had a superb trip, with some great images there Thumbs Up
Trust you enjoyed it, you certainly got about.
But i bet you wont enjoy the cost of diesel when you work it out.
Spent just under £400 on my week to Skye, your spend will probably be at least double that.......
...... and you've also got ferry costs Shocked

Reminds me I need to get some of my Skye pics posted Wink

Is the last picture from the top of the hydro Dam at Pitlochry? One of my favourite walks start from there up through Killikrankie under the A9.

Looks like a great trip with fantastic weather Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Was indeed a superb trip. £180 in ferry costs (hopper ticket cheapest), and approx £400 in fuel, plus a few camp site fees. Averaged 34.1mpg on the dash, so pretty good going over 1700 miles. Thumbs Up
