Went in to service the 90, walked out with a D4.. |
|
Well, it seems my affair with the 2.2 90 has come to an abrupt end. Getting stuck in traffic on the M6 with a 3ton trailer on friday night cemented my decision to change!
Picked up a Black 37k mile 10' plate GS with leather and bright pack, traded the 12 plate 90 XS SW + £6k.. The dealer is also fitting side steps and the heavy duty tow pack as a sweetener.. Does this seem like a good deal?

So you have left the dirty boot brigade and joined the latte sipping brigade
I am sure you have made the right decision as you are now well on the way to becoming a respectable member of society Fuji White D4 2012. Reversing camera, E-diff, Hi-line sound, Xenon lights, ARB bullbar with Lightforce xenon lights and cargo barrier

I have just moved on from a 12 plate defender 2.2 110 to a disco 4. I just could not put up with the defender in todays traffic. I to hope I have done the right thing, lost nothing on the defender in PX so that was good, even after putting 10,000 miles on the clock, but its a dog to drive and my old 300tdi was better somehow.

I picked mine up on Saturday, its already done more miles with a trailer behind it than not and ive fallen in love so to speak.. its SOOOOOOO much better! The only paces I havent put it through are towing a trailer with 2ton on it through the mud with the Pirelli Scorpions on.. Im not sure it would do as well as the defender in that scenario.

well it turned out to be the wrong move for me. the discovery broke down two times in less the 5000 miles, land rover thinks it the wiring, with the ????? on think. I have got my money back. for me this is the end of the road with land rover a 40,000 car that cannot cover 5000 miles without breaking down is just not on. I now have a german X5 on order, it can tow 3.5 ton, as lower road tax, does more mpg and with luck will cover the miles i need without having to call out the breakdown service.
I do hope that you have better luck with your discos, just not for me. michael
