Auto box judder and Warranty Direct ?? |
|
Hoping someone will have been here already - I have Warranty Direct 'ExtraCare' and now also have the dreaded gearbox judder. Only under load (with tin tent on back) at first but now think it's becoming more obvious under normal conditions.
Has anyone tried to seek a resolution of this via Warranty Direct (or a n other) ?? or should I first get a mega flush done at my own expense ??
Help and advice appreciated - as always
Steve
ps Thanks to Colin at BBS - FCR on it's way, can't wait for my baby to tell me all her ills

Had the judder. Didn't claim - didn't bother, as I thought it was classed as an oil change. That was 18 months ago - been fine since. Reckon my oil just started to break down. I guess this can happen, so don't imagine every judder = glycol leak. (I guess, happy to take advice from more experienced folks ).

I had mine changed under landrover warranty at just under 90k miles.Cost £3600 inc vat, no issues. Landrover had to check a few things but the authoridation came through. I had to wait about a month for the part to come in, and it took them a few days to change the gear box.

It's what I was hoping and judging by the website it's what I will be asking for.

Gordon does use the Shell oil, but ISTR the only real difference is the longevity of the shell verse dextron. Mark.

Hi All,
True to form, Gordon (4-Tech) rang this morning to arrange on-site appointment and he arrived bang on time Oil changed with nice fresh Shell derivative and gearbox reset also. Very efficient operation and all finished in less than one hour (no spills either !!)
To add the icing to the cake, Gordon is also going to do a glycol test for me.
Many thanks to Gordon - the customer service was spot-on
Will be test driving very soon and will keep you all informed.
