Just ordered and received mine from the ebay link. For anyone else you can order direct from www.theleatherclinic.co.uk and try the discount code LOYAL10 for 10% off. Also boots currently doing 3 for 2 on the cheap with acetone nail polish remover

Glad I found this thread!
my 55 my06 SE wheel is horrible looking and very lumpy.
I purchased the kit from the eBay link direct from the leather clinic mentioned in kev's post above. I used the discount code he quoted:LOYAL10 and total cost including royal mail 1st class was £15.60
So that's one of my days off this week sorted! Just got to get the nail varnish remover and I'm sorted!

My steering wheel felt like in the heat last week so I bought the kit mentioned above from leather clinic and have spent a couple of hours rubbing it down to remove the crud and painting it
The satin black finish looks clean and now feels a lot better, best of all this has saved me a couple of hundred quid which has been spent on other bits for the Disco
Quite an easy job just make sure you have plenty of nail varnish remover and use plenty of elbow grease
Excellent info from the forum

I couldn't work out how to do it until a forum member explained it to me
Take a photo and save it on your iPad/iphone
When completing your reply scroll down the page and select choose your photo then upload it - it will appear just above the upload/choose photo icons
Then select with the cursor where you want to insert it in to your message then tap the photo you want - photo file information text will appear
Click on preview at the bottom of the page to see the completed message with photos
I hope this makes senseCurrent:

Have just spent the best part of an hour cleaning my lumpy steering wheel though I have done it slightly different
Got a bucket of HOT soapy water and a good strong cloth and soaked the leather part of the wheel and at the same time gave it a good rub with cloth, loads of black grime was transferred to cloth each time but kept doing this over and over until the leather was smooth again. left it to dry ( it's been a warm day today ) and then rubbed black shoe polish into the leather with a finger and clean dry cloth, did this process several times and hay presto steering wheel looks 100% better than it did and almost cost nothing

I ordered the kit from http://www.theleatherclinic.co.uk/ mentioned by Kev in his previous post. Excellent kit but not enough of the prepping liquid which takes off the old coatings. I ended up using about half a bottle of the wife's nail varnish remover (not acetone free stuff).
