Aux socket , phone and hands free
Good day all
I have just been in a car where the owner uses his HTC phone in car by plugging bit into the AUX socket
He then switches the radio to AUX mode and bingo, has hands free use of his phone in the car
Has anyone tried this in a 3 and if so does it work and if so how does it work as I assume you wont have use of anything else

Hi Clive,
I use this method in my D3 with my iPhone 5.
Just buy a 3m iPhone to iPhone lead from a well known auction site for a couple of quid and your away.
Not brilliant as you have to turn the volume up on aux but a cheap hands free system.
All things shipping, storage, transport. UK and worldwide.

Thanks Wiggs
I will look into that
Dont suppose you know by any chance if I can fit an Aux socket in the front of the car. I have one in the centre console in the back and have see a 3 with one in the front next to the ash tray but mine doesnt have one.......Is this something that can be retro fitted in some way or do I just run the cable from the cubby box to the front of the car

I 'cut' into the one at the back of the cubby and ran the cable through to above the ashtray.
Rather than a socket I leave the 3.5mm connector hanging out and just plug that into my phone etc.I see no ships........
