Have has an oil leak for a year now and have eventually traced it to the area around the oil temperature sensor. Oil weeping out an dhave noticed getting more as the weeks go on.
Can the someone advise where is the best place to get a new sump. It does not look a particularly difficult job to replace
Many thanks
John

IIRC, they are a Land Rover only part (but available through aftermarekt suppliers) and are around £95 or so, + VAT.
Changing it is very straight forward, drain the oil and undo the ring of bolts. Refit new sump, and refill engine oil My D3 Build Thread

D_M thanks for your reply.
Will PM TLO for prices etc and when all sorted this next week will be in contact for a service and MOT not to mention sorting out the "BONGS". I used to have a cherokee 140 light aircraft which cost an arm and a leg to maintain. This D3 is going the same way.
DSL "weeping sump" obviously your knowledge of engineeing terms is somewhat limited in this respect.

To a geologist engineering is sheer gobildygook.
Thinking back it might have been described as a porous sump and I was weeping as it was only part of a load of problems.

DSL I am past "weeping" with this D3. As I suspect a lot of owners are -wondering "what next"? It's a distaster
.
Will take a run up today if D_M has one. I don,t want to move the car in case the whole thing splits. had a D2 spew out all it's engine oil at the enternce to the Gyle of all places - corroded oil cooler pipe in this case.
Hope this is the last for awhile

Mikey, have you noticed your tool box being pushed closer and closer to the door?
