Brembo's, ebc pads & shims

Hello,

I've bought some ebc red stuff pads to fit into the Brembo calipers that I have on the front of the disco.
The pads came with some thin metal shims that clip onto the back of the pad.

I guess they are there to try and stop brake noise .....
Any ideas on whether to sit the shims or just leave them in the box?

thanks
Rich

Remove the old shims.. they are pretty thin, i guess 1mm thick made of copper? or so these are for the break pads to be able to "slide" back and fourth. insert new ones, put on coppergrease and slide the new pads on.

Thanks Parrafin ...... managed to do all 4 corners today with new pads and discs.
The old pads had a "stick on" shim ... and I was kind of expecting to find the same thing on the ebc pads .....

However, the ebc "clip on" shims seem to fit ok and all seems good Very Happy
thanks for the advice
