Car Select Warranty

Just wanted to share my experience with Car select Warranty as sold by Lex Auto Lease part of the Lloyds TSB Group
I purchased a 08MY XS D3 from Car Select in Jan this year and have had no problems till now
EML light on and diagnosed by Bodsy as EGR failure when having some functions enabled.
I took the car into Guy Salmon Coventry today and had the diagnosis confirmed, the warranty company will cover the labour costs, gaskets but not the cost of genuine LR EGR replacements only non LR replacements. Guy Salmon will only fit LR parts (understandably)
I want to have the genuine LR parts fitted and feel that the warranty company should not be able to dictate which parts I use
As it stands at the moment I have agreed to pay for the LR EGR's myself and let the warranty company pick up the labour costs
Any thoughts?
I heard that in some instances the EGR valves are classed as part of the exhaust system and some warranties exclude this

It will all be in the T&Cs I'm afraid.
However, could you not suggest to them that you'll pay the difference in getting the LR EGRs?

Fair play to Car Select warranty they agreed to me paying the difference between there preferred supplier of EGR valves and LR parts. When they checked they found that the valves were cheaper from LR!
Nothing to pay and a day driving around in a LR courtsey car...result
